The Health Promotion Program provides opportunities for mental health and addiction education, increasing awareness, reducing stigma, developing skills and supporting recovery.
The program includes a variety of workshops that offer in-depth training on mental health, addiction and suicide prevention, including Mental Health First Aid, suicideTALK, safeTALK, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and Living Life to the Full.
CMHA-S/M also offers Mental Health Works and Psychological Health and Safety courses which bring mental health awareness to the workplace and gives practical skills for supervisors and staff to support positive mental health at work.
CMHA Ontario’s Talk Today is considered to be the most comprehensive sport-related mental health awareness program in Canada. Through this initiative, CMHA-S/M partners with post-secondary institutions and local hockey leagues to promote the mental health of young athletes and create awareness of positive mental health in communities across the region.
