Educational Opportunities
Oct 25, 2022
The Health Promotion Program provides opportunities for mental health and addiction education, increasing awareness, reducing stigma, developing skills and supporting recovery.
The program offers:
- training workshops and certificate programs on mental health, addictions, and suicide prevention.
- CMHA Ontario’s awareness program called Talk Today, the most comprehensive sport-related mental health awareness program in Canada. We promote mental health in young athletes by partnering with post-secondary institutions and local hockey leagues to create awareness in communities across the region.
- free presentations and informational booths to schools, workplaces, and groups of individuals seeking to learn more about mental health, other services we provide, and practical skills to improve mental health and reduce stigma.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenging time for health care organizations across northeastern Ontario. Health care workers, support staff, and organizational leaders are all facing extreme levels of stress and burnout.
The Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario has launched Your Health Space, a free mental health service for Ontario’s health care organizations. This program provides the training, resources, and tools needed to encourage complex conversations about stress and burnout and promote psychological health and safety in health care workplaces.
