Community Mobilization
Apr 19, 2023
Community Mobilization is a partnership representing over 25 agencies from diverse community sectors – health, children’s services, justice, education, mental health and addictions, and social services. Working together, our Mission is “leading and connecting for improved community well-being through proactive collaboration and response.” CMHA-S/M plays an administrative role in the facilitation of this partnership.
One aspect of the Community Mobilization program is the Rapid Mobilization Table (RMT), which was initiated in May 2014. Representatives from partner agencies meet twice each week to collaboratively identify situations that place Sudbury residents at high risk of harm. All necessary partners then plan and participate in a timely, coordinated response – connecting those at risk with the services and supports that can help.
There are also two local ad hoc situation tables; the Espanola and Area Situation Table supporting Espanola and the surrounding area (initiated in October 2018); and the Sudbury East Mobilization Table supporting the Municipalities of French River, St. Charles, Markstay-Warren and Killarney (initiated in October 2019).
Data collected from these tables is used to identify trends, common risk factors and potential gaps in community services. This information is shared with leaders and stakeholders to inform community planning and decision-making.
Community Mobilization releases its 2023 Rapid Mobilization Table Data Report
This report shares what we saw in 2023 at RMT —what risk factors were most often identified, who was impacted and potential ways this information could contribute to community safety & well-being planning. Please contact us at [email protected] if you would like more information about the report findings or to explore ways in which this data can support your own program or community planning.
