CMHA-S/M Receives Highest Level of Accreditation through Accreditation Canada

We are extremely proud of the staff, leadership, and board at CMHA-Sudbury/Manitoulin as we have been awarded Accreditation with Exemplary Standing by Accreditation Canada. Accreditation challenges us to meet national standards of excellence, and to continually improve the quality and safety of our services for individuals we support.

Accreditation is a voluntary quality improvement process that measures CMHA-S/M’s organizational practices against industry standard quality and safety practices in Canada. It helps our organization identify what we’re doing well and where we need to focus our improvement efforts. Our award of Exemplary Standing means that we meet or exceed health care standards.

In May, our sites across Sudbury and Manitoulin were surveyed by external surveyors with Accreditation Canada. Everyone at CMHA-S/M is involved in accreditation, from front-line staff and leadership to individuals who access services to our volunteer board of directors. The survey took place over a period of two days, but preparation for the survey happens over a period of several years. Our organization has been committed to continually improving our standards in accordance with best practices, working hard to ensure that we are constantly evolving.

Canadian Mental Health Association-Sudbury/Manitoulin is committed to quality and safety in community mental health and substance use services, and we continue to do the work to provide high quality services.
